• Local Processing: Comment Rocket processes data locally on your device whenever possible.
• No Browsing History Storage: We do not store your browsing history or track the websites you visit.
• LinkedIn Data: We only access the LinkedIn post content you specifically choose to engage with to generate relevant comments. We do not scrape or store your LinkedIn connections or private messages.
• AI Processing: To generate comments, the text of the post you selected is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI/Anthropic) for processing. This data is not used to train their models.
• Contact Form: When you submit a contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. This data is processed by Formspree (our form backend provider) and protected by Cloudflare Turnstile for spam prevention.

3. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal cookies and tracking technologies solely for the operation of our service:

• Analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage data (e.g., page views, feature usage) to improve our service. PostHog uses cookies and is configured to respect your privacy — no data is sent to third-party ad networks.
• Essential Cookies: We may store session-related data necessary for the extension to function.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of our service.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate and improve our service:

• PostHog: Self-hosted or cloud analytics to understand how our tool is used. Collects anonymous usage data. Does not share data with ad networks.
• OpenAI / Anthropic: AI providers used to generate comment suggestions. Post content you select to engage with is sent temporarily for processing. Not used for model training.
• Formspree: Contact form submission processing. Collects name, email, and message when you voluntarily contact us.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: Bot detection and spam prevention on our contact form. Does not track browsing behavior across sites.

These third parties have their own privacy policies governing the use of your data. We encourage you to review them.

We retain contact form submissions (name, email, message) for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for record-keeping purposes. Anonymous analytics data is retained by PostHog according to their retention policy. Post content sent to AI providers for comment generation is not stored by us or by our AI providers.
